Macroful
Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy governs the privacy practices of Macroful.
Last updated: August 2, 2026
1. Who We Are
Macroful ("we", "us") is a nutrition and macro tracking app. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. If you have any questions, contact us at support@macroful.app.
2. Data We Collect
Account data: your email address and a unique account ID when you create an account (including via Sign in with Apple).
Health & nutrition data: meals and foods you log, calorie and macro targets, body weight entries, step counts, and wellbeing entries (such as bloating notes). Step data is read from your device (e.g. Apple Health / the device pedometer) only after you grant permission.
Photos: food photos you take or select are used to estimate nutrition values. Photos are sent to our AI processing partners solely to analyze the food they show and are not used to identify you.
Purchase data: if you subscribe to Macroful Premium, the purchase is processed by Apple and our subscription partner RevenueCat. We never see or store your full payment details.
Technical data: basic diagnostic and crash information so we can keep the app stable.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use your data to provide the core features of Macroful: tracking your meals and macros, estimating nutrition from photos and barcodes, showing your progress and insights, syncing your data across devices, and managing your subscription. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your data for third-party advertising.
4. AI Processing
When you scan a meal, nutrition label, or photo, the image and related text are processed by third-party AI providers to estimate its nutritional content. These requests are made through our secure backend, are used only to generate your result, and are not used by us to train AI models. AI estimates can be inaccurate — you can always edit the values before saving.
5. Where Your Data Is Stored
Your account and tracking data are stored with our hosting provider Supabase on secured servers. Data is transmitted using encryption (HTTPS/TLS). Some data (such as your recent entries) is also cached on your device so the app works offline.
6. Third-Party Services
We rely on a small number of service providers to run Macroful: Supabase (database & authentication), RevenueCat and Apple (subscriptions and payments), AI providers (food photo and text analysis), and Open Food Facts (public barcode database — barcode lookups are sent to their public API). These providers only receive the data needed to perform their function.
7. How Long We Keep Data
We keep your data for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account at any time in Account settings inside the app — this permanently deletes your account and the personal data linked to it. You can also reset your tracking data without deleting the account.
8. Your Rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU), you have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise most of these rights directly in the app, or by emailing us at support@macroful.app. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
9. Children
Macroful is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, please contact us so we can delete it.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version in the app and adjust the "Last updated" date above. If changes are significant, we will notify you in the app.
11. Contact
